Before setting your eyes on the hotel, you are greeted with an enchanting driveway which takes you through a tunnel of colour made up of Canadian redwood and copper beeches. As you make your way to the entrance of the hotel, you cannot help but stand in awe at the beautiful Tudor and Gothic architecture that the hotel consists of.

Afternoon tea is enjoyed in The Lounge Bar or during the warmer months you can go al fresco on one of the terraces! Overlooking the beautiful ornamental ponds and fountains, it is not just your tastebuds in for a treat – your eyes will be too.

There are 5 menus you can choose from; Traditional Afternoon Tea, Traditional Afternoon Tea with a glass of Bruno Paillard Brut Champagne, Savoury Afternoon Tea, Hendricks Gin Afternoon Tea and a Children’s Afternoon Tea. On the traditional and savoury menu you will have a choice of Taylor’s of Harrogate leaf tea or coffee with (who knew there were so many tea’s?!). Once ordered you can sit back and relax and take in the beauty of your surroundings.

The sandwiches on the Traditional Afternoon Tea were: free range egg mayonnaise, honey roasted Hampshire ham, oak smoked salmon with chive crème fraiche, confit chicken and tarragon mayonnaise and cucumber and cream cheese. Plus a plate of seasonal fruit and plain scones served with cream and jam and the top plate consisting of mouth-watering cakes and pastries. It sure is a decadent and delicious way to spend any afternoon with family or friends.
