With the sun making a regular appearance, these last couple of weeks have been a summer dream! Hot days, warm evenings, and the perfect weather to enjoy some al fresco dining in Southampton!

What else could make us feel even more summery whilst we dine in the sun with a cold drink? Greek food! A Mediterranean cuisine favourite, Greek flavours just radiate the taste of holiday dining. The Real Greek at Westquay goes hand-in-hand with al fresco to offer you that escape from the hustle and bustle, transporting you to warmer climates and sun-kissed getaways.

Located on level one of Westquay’s dining complex The Real Greek overlooks the Esplanade surrounded by the Old Walls. The fresh and bright seating spills outside the restaurant to create a welcoming outdoor dining area with a relaxing view.

The dining experience at The Real Greek is an exceptional one. It’s friendly and relaxed ambience will help to shake off any stresses from your day as you sit back and relax. The menu is vast with tapas style dining on offer. It is recommended that you select 3-4 Meze (plates) per person, but for those who are indecisive or unfamiliar with Greek food the sharing combinations are a great way to try a variety of dishes.

Greek food is a hands-on experience with flatbread or crudites and dips to start. The spicy feta dip is delicious! The main dishes consist of skewers, meatballs, grilled fish and fresh salads, perfect when dining al fresco!

Your food will arrive when ready, stacked on tiers similar to that of an afternoon tea! A unique way to dine and really emphasising the sharing ethos the restaurant strives to deliver. The Greek mentality of their love for food, sharing and engaging with friends and family flows through the spirit of the restaurant.

The food itself is delicious, fresh and a healthier choice for diners. The Mediterranean flavours shine throughout making each mouthful a treat and the relaxed atmosphere a welcome escape for diners.

The Real Greek SouthamptonOn to desserts and you’ll spot some Greek favourites including Baklava and Loukoumia. If you’re unsure about trying something new then the caramel and pecan cheesecake is a safe option, and you won’t be disappointed, this Real Greek vanilla cheesecake is mouthwatering!

All of this can be washed down with some of the Greek speciality tea and coffee, or on a warm summer’s evening a fresh cocktail or crisp glass of wine is idyllic!

Al fresco dining at The Real Greek isn’t just for sunny days, even the British weather can’t put us off with its covered outside dining and outdoor heaters, perfect all year round!
