On 8th December, CAU will be bringing Argentine flair and flavour to the South coast in the bustling shopping destination of port city, Southampton. The restaurant group, who offer contemporary cuisine inspired by the vibrancy, colour and cultural diversity of Buenos Aires, will be opening their 22nd site in the new WestQuay Watermark development in the renowned WestQuay Shopping Centre, just in time for Christmas.


Southampton was an obvious choice for CAU’s next site due to its prime location and nationwide reputation for great shopping retailers and restaurants, and particularly as part of the exciting new WestQuay Watermark regeneration scheme, linking the city centre to the waterfront. Located on the lower promenade, the restaurant will be spread over one floor with a separate bar area. The unique design motives for which CAU are known will feature corrugated booth seating and blue sky and grass imagery as well as an open plan kitchen giving diners the opportunity to see the chefs busy at work.


From lunch through to dinner and brunch on the weekends, diners can rest their legs during a busy day of shopping and fuel up with the set menu. With three courses for just £12.95, dishes such as Fish Tacos (crispy battered pollock served on blue tortillas with a smoky chipotle mayo), the famous Tapa de Cuadril Steak and churros with dulce de leche, will inject some South American spirit into a busy day’s shopping. On Sundays diners can chow down on a knock out Sunday Roast with all the trimmings: rump of beef, Yorkshire pudding, coal roasted carrots, red wine gravy and beef-dripping roast potatoes.

CAU’s seasonally changing menus are served alongside the finest quality cuts of beef, cooked from a wood-fired grill, with a host of options to suit any occasion from individual small plates to generous sharing platters.

The dedicated bar will feature La Gringa on tap, an extensive list of CAU’s own brand wines, chosen to complement the flavoursome steak, as well as a range of cocktails and Clericots – an infamous Argentine wine-based drink made from regional wine and local fruits – ideal for sharing.

CAU Southampton will be open everyday from midday on weekdays and 9am on weekends.
