The Southampton guide recently visited the mayflower theatre to watch Legally Blonde the Musical.

For those who have never watched the films, the story is based on a book by Amanda Brown about her experiences at law school. Since it’s first outing on broadway In 2007, the show has travelled the world spreading the key character Elle’s message “have faith in yourself”.

Once again the Mayflower shows us that the West End can be brought to the regional masses! Legally Blonde performed to a youthful and packed house all the actors were on point and more than perfectly professional.

Legally Blonde is an overwhelming delight for the senses, from the costume (thanks to Elizabeth Dennis) to the set and lighting design (Jon Harris, Nev Wilson and their teams).

Disco balls, dance scenes, multiple costume changes, dogs, skates, love and hope… this show has it all!

Rita Simons plays Paulette, is a brilliant ‘has-been’ character where Elle’s positive influence brings her all the riches of life.

Bill Ward as Professor Callahan plays a magnificent baddie! His character shows us what is wrong with an institution that doesn’t move with the times, topical at the moment.

The show is on from the 14-18th November it’s a must see and will leave you feeling good.
