Mr Bloom from CBeebies will star in a series of live shows as part of Marwell Zoo’s exciting calendar of events for 2018.
The zoo has unveiled its highlights for the year ahead with lots on offer to keep the entire family entertained throughout the seasons.
Visit Marwell Zoo as they celebrate the grand unveiling of Tropical House: Energy for Life from 26 March, the biggest ever exhibit in their history. Under its spectacular curved roof crafted with cutting-edge technology, a rainforest and a living laboratory will come to life. Spanning two levels with views across a lush canopy, waterfall and forest floor below, experience face-to-face encounters with colourful and charismatic mammals including a sloth, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish and invertebrates.
This Easter, take part in the Giant Egg Trail, a #SHELFIE opportunity inside a cracked egg shell and a Meet and Greet with the Easter Bunny where guests can collect their free chocolate egg.
Throughout half term (May 26 – June 3), a Top Trumps Challenge will put families to the test! Pick up a card and fun trail on arrival and compare your scores against a number of giant cards around the park representing the animal species.
A highlight of the year will see Mr Bloom from CBeebies bringing his one-man stage show to the zoo for select dates during the event Summer at Marwell, which runs throughout August.
His much-loved show will feature a bundle of veggie stories, gardening games and all the catchy nursery songs from the TV show, entertaining ‘tiddlers’ and parents alike.
Ben Faulks, who plays Mr Bloom, said: “I’m really excited to be bringing the fun from the Mr Bloom television shows to families throughout the summer months!”
Skip into Summer with some fantastic floral fun and take part in Marwell’s topiary trail with a floral twist around the zoo. Meet crazy botanist ‘Dr Chris Anthemum’ for his fun-filled weekday show. Little green-fingered gardeners will also have the opportunity to plant their own plastic plants or dig deep with an assortment of toy diggers at ‘The Big Dig Pit’ before taking a family #SummerSelfie in the giant Marwell deckchair to remember the day.
Dress up in your Halloween finest and be part of the magic at Marwell as part of the popular half term event Boo at the Zoo. Marwell’s resident wizard will put trainee flyers through their paces to earn their broomstick licence and Esme will mesmerize guests with creepy storytelling in the Haunted Hall where a variety of activities will be available.
Then to finish the year in style, experience the magic of Christmas at Marwell this festive season, a truly enchanting family experience where Marwell Hall will be transformed into a winter wonderland.
