And what a fun way it is too! If you ever get the chance to get off the beaten track and onto a self-balancing electric Segway – then do! Situated in the picturesque Moors Valley Country Park and run by GoApe, this is activity is a must if you’re looking for things to do in The New Forest.
After reading the health and safety rules and guidelines a safety helmet is handed to you and you are then taken to their mini training track and are told to the last detail of how to ride your Segway safely but whilst having fun!
When everyone is happy you are partnered with a Segway and then sent on your way to do a couple of laps of the training course. It was a beautiful sunny day (courses may vary with the affects of rain) so there was plenty of exploring that could be done.
The first 5-10 minutes the Segway is restricted to a certain speed but once everyone is familiar with their machines, you are put onto a faster speed control. The New Forest is such a beautiful tranquil place to be and exploring it on a Segway is definitely something that is recommended and something to add to your bucket list if you have not done so already!
The session lasts about an hour (including the safety briefing) and the staff are very friendly and always make you feel at ease. An activity you will be back to do again!
Locations of where you can Segway can be found on Go Ape’s website.
